Domestic violence perpetrators have been “emboldened” by police, lawyers and the courts in a scathing assessment of the failings of Queensland’s justice system. Crime and Corruption Commission boss Alan MacSporran is refusing to resign despite an investigation finding serious failings within the corruption watchdog which have prompted calls for a Royal Commission into its powers. The Federal Parliament has voted to legalise mitochondrial donations which will allow women to give birth without passing on genetic disease.
