Jim Thorpe was known as the greatest Athlete in the world. A member of the Sac and Fox nation, he was the first Native American to win Olympic Gold medals for the United States in 1912. When the Olympic Committee found out that he had been payed $2 a game to play two seasons of semi-professional baseball, they stripped him of his title and gold medals.
