You just can\u2019t make this stuff up. Sidney Powell, a former federal prosecutor and attorney for disgraced General Michael Flynn has been all over the news since the election. The President himself had recently announced her as an integral part of the \u201cstrike team\u201d along with election fraud strike team leader Rudy Giuliani. She was praised for, quote, \u201cuncovering the greatest crime ever perpetrated in the history of the world.\u201d\xa0\n\nLast week she did several interviews claiming the CIA and deceased Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez were involved in a vast communist conspiracy to steal the 2020 election. She boldly proclaimed to have evidence of vote-counting software from a rogue software company named Dominion that counted every Biden vote as 40 votes and Trump\u2019s as only 1 vote. Swinging as many as 10 million illegal fraudulent votes to Biden and subtracting as many as 7 million legal votes from Trump\u2019s tally. For a net effect of 17 million votes in the wrong direction. It was abundantly clear that Sidney Powell not only spoke for and worked for the President but was his goose that had laid the golden egg.\xa0\n\nThe MAGA nation rejoiced. Telling everyone they could to stay tuned for the big reveal. Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson hyped the case up so much that Tucker offered Powell a whole week's worth of primetime airtime on his show which is a ratings juggernaut and viewer favorite with a cult-like following. That\u2019s when everything began to unravel, however. As it became immediately apparent that vague rhetoric, hearsay, common conspiracy theory themes, and anecdotal evidence of several cases of fraud, no more or less than any typical election in a country of 320,000,000 people, was simply not going to be enough. Not even in the Bizzaro world of right-wing media.\xa0\n\nTucker Carlson pressed, Powell declined to appear. She then went ghost and threatened legal action if Fox News and Tucker Carlson\u2019s show kept asking her to provide evidence to her grandiose claims. Then Sunday afternoon, in a bizarre and downright shocking plot twist Rudy, President Trump, and all the rest of the gang completely distanced themselves from her in the form of an official Whitehouse press release. Unequivocally stating Sidney Powell was not affiliated in any capacity with the President or his campaign.\n\n\xa0This is the best explanation yet as to why they suddenly and unexpectedly cut ties completely. \u201cNot only can the individual lawyers face such lawsuits but the Trump campaign itself could be liable under the principle of respondeat superior, where an employer is liable for the conduct of his employees when they are acting within the scope of their employment.
