On today\u2019s episode I speak to Joe Labuschagne about his passion to help others and how he is using his physical ability raise funds for charity.
\nAt the age of 17 Joe did his first run for charity, doing 270 km over 4 days to raise funds for an orphanage on the brink of closing. At the age of 17, it was one of the hardest things he had ever done, fighting his mind and body all the way to the finish line. When he crossed the finish line and saw all the people cheering and the smiles on the kids faces, the pain he experienced had faded away. This marked the start of Joe running extreme distances and terrains for charity.
\nJoe had a plan to run from Cairo in Egypt all the way to Cape Town South Africa. He ran through Egypt and Sudan, but when he arrived in Ethiopia he started to experience stress fractures and as a result his doctor would not give him the green light to continue.
\nJoe went back to the drawing board and decided he would instead run or cycle all 54 countries in Africa during his life.
\nThe next country on Joe\u2019s list is Nigeria, he will be cycling from Abuja to Lagos to raise funds to sponsor sporting equipment for orphans in Nigeria.

\nDuring this episode we speak about the power of the ability to endure and how it served Joe in the various areas of his life. We also speak about where his passion for helping people stemmed from, and his 26-year career in educating the leaders of tomorrow.
