This week I speak to Bongani Putsoane, an author and speaker passionate about changing the lives of our youth.
\nBongani shares some of the struggles he faced growing up, including succumbing to peer pressure and becoming addicted to sniffing petrol.
\nBongani and I speak about the challenges of growing up in poverty where adequate role models are not readily available, and how this can have devasting effects on the developing teenager. We look at how easily it is to influence the youth, and why it is important to watch what we say infront of them.
\nDuring the show we speak about Bongani\u2019s struggles with discovering his identity and how this led him down the path of addiction and destruction. Bongani also shares how his own challenges gave birth to his passion.
\nBongani shares his journey to becoming a Christian, and how he was on a path of destruction up until he discovered the transformational power of Christ. This was a challenge since he grew up in a Muslim family. He shares details about how he secretly went to church and how his father eventually accepted Bongani\u2019s decision.
\n
\nOver the years Bongani has made many efforts to be involved within the community such as being a full time youth pastor, preaching to children and many young adults is something he quite enjoys being able to share the word of the gospel and be able to inspire these young individuals to do better. Bongani served faithfully in the Foxfire youth team of African Enterprise for a year in 2016 to also to preach all around South Africa to preach the word of the Gospel. He has also visited over 100 schools within South Africa ministering as well as sharing his testimony with many young individuals.
