HPV vaccination guidance for mid-aged adults (27 to 45 years old) was updated by the CDC in 2019. Unfortunately, very few individuals in the US in this age range have ever been vaccinated for HPV, despite the risk for acquiring an HPV infection that can potentially progress to cancer, most notably oropharyngeal, cervical, and anorectal.
