Vlad III Dracula, known as\xa0Vlad the Impaler\xa0(Romanian:\xa0Vlad \u021aepe\u0219,\xa0Bulgarian:\xa0\u0412\u043b\u0430\u0434 \u0426\u0435\u043f\u0435\u0448,\xa0pronunciation:\xa0[\u02c8vlad\xa0\u02c8tsepe\u0283]\xa0) or\xa0Vlad Dracula\xa0(/\u02c8dr\xe6kj\u0259l\u0259/(Romanian:\xa0Vlad Dr\u0103culea,\xa0pronunciation:\xa0[\u02c8dr\u0259kule\u032fa]\xa0,\xa0Bulgarian:\xa0\u0412\u043b\u0430\u0434 \u0414\u0440\u0430\u043a\u0443\u043b\u0430); 1428/31\xa0\u2013 1476/77), was\xa0Voivodeof\xa0Wallachia\xa0three times between 1448 and his death. He is often considered one of the most important rulers in Wallachian history and a national hero of Romania.
