Tycho Brahe\xa0(/\u02ccta\u026ako\u028a\xa0\u02c8br\u0251\u02d0hi,\xa0\u02c8br\u0251\u02d0,\xa0\u02c8br\u0251\u02d0\u0259/, born\xa0Tyge Ottesen Brahe\xa0(Danish:\xa0[\u02c8ty\u02d0\u0259 \u02c8\u028cd\u0259sn\u0329 \u02c8b\u0281\u0251\u02d0][n 1]); 14 December 1546\xa0\u2013 24 October 1601) was a\xa0Danish\xa0nobleman\xa0known for his accurate and comprehensive\xa0astronomical and planetary\xa0observations. He was born in the then Danish peninsula of\xa0Scania. Well known in his lifetime as an\xa0astronomer,\xa0astrologer\xa0and\xa0alchemist, he has been described as "the first competent mind in modern astronomy to feel ardently the passion for exact\xa0empirical facts."[1]\xa0His observations were some five times more accurate than the best available observations at the time.
