Tobacco Whistle Blowers
Jeffrey Stephen Wigand\xa0(/\u02c8wa\u026a\u0261\xe6nd/; born December 17, 1942) is an American\xa0biochemist\xa0and\xa0whistleblower.
He is a former\xa0vice president\xa0of\xa0research and development\xa0at\xa0Brown & Williamson\xa0in\xa0Louisville, Kentucky, who worked on the development of reduced-harm\xa0cigarettes\xa0and in 1996 blew the whistle on\xa0tobacco\xa0tampering at the company. This was adapted for 1999 film\xa0The Insider, with\xa0Russell Crowe\xa0portraying Wigand.
