He was the subject of a movie:\xa0The Great Impostor, in which he was played by\xa0Tony Curtis.

Demara's impersonations included a\xa0naval surgeon,[2]\xa0a\xa0civil engineer, a\xa0sheriff's deputy, an assistant\xa0prison warden, a doctor of\xa0applied psychology, a hospital orderly, a\xa0lawyer, a child-care expert, a\xa0Benedictine\xa0monk, a\xa0Trappist\xa0monk, an editor, a cancer researcher, and a teacher. One teaching job led to six months in prison.
