The\\xa0Burke and Hare murders\\xa0were a series of 16 killings committed over a period of about ten months in 1828 in\\xa0Edinburgh, Scotland. They were undertaken by William Burke and William Hare, who sold the corpses to\\xa0Robert Knox\\xa0for\\xa0dissection\\xa0at his\\xa0anatomy\\xa0lectures.
