Tetris\xa0(Russian:\xa0\u0422\u0435\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0441\xa0[\u02c8t\u025btr\u02b2\u026as]) is a\xa0tile-matching video game\xa0created by Russian software engineer\xa0Alexey Pajitnov\xa0in 1984. It has been published by several companies, most prominently during a dispute over the appropriation of the rights in the late 1980s. After a significant period of publication by\xa0Nintendo, the rights reverted to Pajitnov in 1996, who co-founded\xa0The Tetris Company\xa0with\xa0Henk Rogers\xa0to manage licensing.
