Old West Gunfights
Gunslinger\xa0/\u02c8\u0261\u028cnsl\u026a\u014b\u0259r/\xa0and\xa0gunfighter\xa0are words used historically to refer to men in the\xa0American Old West\xa0who had gained a reputation of being dangerous with a gun and had participated in gunfights and shootouts.\xa0Gunman\xa0was a more common term used for these individuals in the 19th century. Today, the term "gunslinger" is more or less used to denote someone who is\xa0quick on the draw\xa0with a pistol, but can also refer to\xa0riflemen\xa0and\xa0shotgun messengers. The gunfighter is also one of the most popular characters in the\xa0Western genrea nd has appeared in associated films, video games, and literature.
