Miyamoto Musashi\xa0(\u5bae\u672c \u6b66\u8535, c. 1584 \u2013 13 June 1645),[1]\xa0also known as\xa0Shinmen Takez\u014d,\xa0Miyamoto Bennosuke\xa0or, by his\xa0Buddhist name,\xa0Niten D\u014draku,[2]\xa0was a Japanese\xa0swordsman, philosopher, strategist, writer and\xa0r\u014dnin, who became renowned through stories of his unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated record in his 61 duels (next is 33 by\xa0It\u014d Itt\u014dsai). Musashi, as he was often simply known, is considered a\xa0Kensei, a sword-saint of Japan.[3]\xa0He was the founder of the\xa0Niten Ichi-ry\u016b, or Nito Ichi-ry\u016b, style of swordsmanship, and in his final years authored\xa0The Book of Five Rings\xa0(\u4e94\u8f2a\u306e\u66f8,\xa0Go Rin No Sho)\xa0and\xa0Dokk\u014dd\u014d\xa0(\u7368\u884c\u9053,\xa0The Path of Aloneness).
