JBS Haldane and the X-Craft

John Burdon Sanderson Haldane\xa0FRS\xa0(/\u02c8h\u0254\u02d0lde\u026an/; 5 November 1892\xa0\u2013 1 December 1964[1][2]), nicknamed "Jack" or "JBS",[3]\xa0was a British-Indian scientist who worked in physiology, genetics, evolutionary biology, and mathematics. With innovative use of statistics in biology, he was one of the founders of neo-Darwinism. Despite his lack of an academic degree in the field,[1]\xa0he taught biology at the University of Cambridge, the Royal Institution, and University College London.[4]\xa0Renouncing his British citizenship, he became an Indian citizen in 1961 and worked at the Indian Statistical Institute for the rest of his life.
