Fecal microbiota transplant\\xa0(FMT), also known as a\\xa0stool transplant,[1]\\xa0is the process of transplantation of fecal bacteria from a healthy individual into a recipient. FMT involves restoration of the\\xa0colonic microflora\\xa0by introducing healthy bacterial flora through infusion of stool, e.g. by\\xa0colonoscopy,\\xa0enema,\\xa0orogastric tube\\xa0or by mouth in the form of a capsule containing\\xa0freeze-dried\\xa0material, obtained from a healthy donor. A limited number of studies have shown it to be an effective treatment for patients suffering from\\xa0Clostridium difficile\\xa0infection (CDI), whose effects can range from diarrhea to pseudomembranous colitis
