Eve Online's Judgement Day
Eve Online\xa0(stylised\xa0EVE Online) is a\xa0space-based,\xa0persistent world\xa0massively multiplayer online role-playing game\xa0(MMORPG) developed and published by\xa0CCP Games. Players of\xa0Eve Online can participate in a number of in-game professions and activities, including mining,\xa0piracy,\xa0manufacturing,\xa0trading,\xa0exploration, and\xa0combat\xa0(both\xa0player versus environment\xa0and\xa0player versus player). The game contains a total of 7,800 star systems that can be visited by players. In 2009, a player\xa0alliance\xa0known as Goonswarm was contacted by a disgruntled director of rival alliance Band of Brothers, one of the largest alliances in the game at that time. The defecting director then stripped Band of Brothers of a large quantity of assets including ships, money and territory, and disbanded the alliance.
