Joshua Abraham Norton\\xa0(February 4, 1818[3]\\xa0\\u2013 January 8, 1880), known as\\xa0Emperor Norton, was a citizen of\\xa0San Francisco, California who proclaimed himself "Norton I, Emperor of the United States" in 1859.
