Cryptids
This episode contains is a list of cryptids, which are\xa0animals\xa0presumed by followers of the\xa0cryptozoology\xa0pseudoscientific\xa0subculture\xa0to exist on the basis of\xa0anecdotal\xa0or other evidence considered insufficient by\xa0mainstream science. While\xa0biologists\xa0regularly identify new species following established\xa0scientific methodology, cryptozoologists focus on entities mentioned in the\xa0folklore\xa0record and rumour. Entities that may be considered cryptids by cryptozoologists include\xa0Bigfoot,\xa0Yeti, the\xa0chupacabra, the\xa0Jersey Devil, the\xa0Loch Ness Monster, or\xa0Mokele-mbembe. Related pseudosciences include\xa0young Earth creationism,[1][2]\xa0ghost hunting, and\xa0ufology. Some dictionaries and encyclopedias define the term "cryptid" as an animal whose existence is unsubstantiated.[3][4]
