Caligula

Caligula\xa0(/k\u0259\u02c8l\u026a\u0261j\u028al\u0259/; 31 August 12 \u2013 24 January 41 AD), formally known as\xa0Gaius\xa0(Gaius\xa0Caesar Augustus Germanicus), was the third\xa0Roman emperor, ruling from 37 to 41. The son of the popular Roman general\xa0Germanicus\xa0and\xa0Augustus's granddaughter\xa0Agrippina the Elder, Caligula was born into the first ruling family of the\xa0Roman Empire, conventionally known as the\xa0Julio-Claudian dynasty.
