My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic\\xa0is an animated television series produced by\\xa0Hasbro\\xa0as part of the\\xa0My Little Pony\\xa0toy franchise, which is tied in with the\\xa02010 relaunch\\xa0of dolls and play sets and original programming for the American children\'s\\xa0cable channel\\xa0Discovery Family\\xa0(formerly Hub Network).\\xa0Lauren Faust\\xa0was selected as the creative developer and executive producer for the show based on her previous animation experience with other animated shows such as\\xa0Cartoon Network\'s\\xa0The Powerpuff Girls\\xa0and\\xa0Foster\'s Home for Imaginary Friends.
