There are many\xa0conspiracy theories\xa0that attribute the planning and execution of the\xa0September 11 attacks\xa0against the\xa0United States\xa0to parties other than, or in addition to,\xa0al-Qaeda[1]\xa0including that there was\xa0advance knowledge of the attacks\xa0among high-level government officials. Government investigations and independent reviews have rejected these theories.[2][3]\xa0Proponents of these theories assert that there are inconsistencies in the commonly accepted version, or evidence that was either ignored or overlooked.[4]
