1904 Olympic Marathon
The\xa0men's marathon\xa0at the\xa01904 Summer Olympics\xa0in\xa0St. Louis\xa0took place on August 30 of that year, over a distance of 24.85\xa0miles (39.99\xa0km).[2]\xa0Thirty-two athletes representing four nations competed, but only 14 managed to finish the race,[3]\xa0which proved to be a bizarre affair due to poor organization and officiating.[4]
