The Government of Canada has compiled a list of 31 so-called "critical minerals." Those resources are desperately needed for new, green technology, such as that used to make electric vehicle batteries. Newfoundland and Labrador has a long history of mining, but many of the critical minerals here have lain dormant because of low demand. But that's all about to change.
