Back to the drawing board: The provincial government is looking - again - for a company to build a new penitentiary in St. John's. The union representing correctional workers says members are frustrated at the delay

The provincial government says it must return to square one in its plans to replace Her Majesty's Penitentiary in St. John's. The money it budgeted for the project is no longer enough, because labour and materials costs have ballooned in the last two years. Now, the union representing corrections workers is concerned its members will have to continue working in what it calls unsafe conditions.
