A commercial trucker in Western Newfoundland says pandemic rules are keeping him from getting his eyes checked. Pandemic rules say what workers CAN do, and when, but truckers don't necessarily get home for as long as most rotational workers. This week is Eating Disorder Awareness Week in this province. Cases of eating disorders have recently risen almost 30%, and it is resulting in longer wait times for health care supports and more hospitalizations. Paul Thomey is the executive director of the Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador. He says the time to act is now. Mowen Kambo first moved to Newfoundland as a temporary foreign worker, Born in the Philippines, his goal was to build a life. A few years later, his employer forgot to file the right and he lost his status to work here.Nine years later, and he's seeing a new light, and new rights as a Canadian citizen.
