Smooth smooth smooth. That\'s about the only way to describe this months mix. Every now and then you find yourself with a ton of new tunes with a certain vibe. As tempting as it was to up the tempo mid way through, I thought I\'d try to be all grown up and keep things civilised. The warmth on the first track Lem Springsteens "New Beginning" sets the tone. Nick Holder steps up next with more smooth in "Destination Africa". My favourite track on the mix is "Afternoon Tribute", if your a fan of Moodymanns "Mahogany Brown" then you will love this. It\'s like "Moodymann does Miami" and I\' can\'t get enough of it. When the chords change during the build up you get that tingly feeling when you know something great is about to happen. The next track is up there too, "Sometimes" carries on with the overall deep smoothness of the mix. "Temple Movements" has a great deep NY shuffle to it along with a huge deep bass rumble. "Love Seeker" sees Groove Asssassin inject some tough beats to get your ass moving. Roland Clark returns to his soulful roots with "Tambor Love" a tune I must admit I missed first time round, but once you hear it a couple of times you\'ll find yourself singing it all day long. Frankie Feliciano toughens things up again with a chunky number "Stalker Track". "Love We Had" is a collaboration between Miguel Migs and Peven Everett, if you ask me they should get together more often. Hardsoul have also returned to the soulful fold with their polished mix of "Give It To Me". It isn\'t possible to do a mix these days without dropping a Sean McCabe tune, this month it\'s "Rough Times", but I could have chosen from a bucket load. We have three tracks in a row from Z records, great to see the label still going strong. This second track "Still In Love" is vintage Dave Lee. It\'s not often I buy a remake of tunes from the recent past that I loved first time round (just an old fart with things like that), but I made an exception with Soul Renegades mix of "Song For Sharma". The original was such a gem and still can\'t be beat, but man did they give it a shot. It\'s equally rare for me to play two mixes of the same track across my mixes, but was playing around with this when I dropped the accapella, I had a huge smile from ear to ear (and I was on the bus to work at the time). Only fair to share it with you guys so you can smile uncontrollably too. It\'s Conan Liquids mix of "Another World" with a classic over the top. I won\'t spoil it by telling you what it is, that way you have to listen to all of the mix :). We drop down a couple of gears to end. "Brazillian Skies" has you reaching for your Mojito, while "Dana\'s Dream" leaves you curled up on the rug in front of the fire in your favourite slippers. This mix is warm enough to melt the snow in Scotland and smooth enough to use as sun cream if your in the Southern Hemisphere. Yes I know this mix isn\'t as long as usual, but as the ladies say it\'s not the size that counts.
