Budget 2017 What\\u2019s In It For You On this edition of Business Connections Live Steve Hyland asks Louise Punter, CEO of Surrey Chambers of Commerce\\xa0about the impact the budget will have on businesses based on the chancellor\\u2019s specific announcements such as business rates, R&D, transport investment, VAT threshold, digital infrastructure, extra funding for Brexit preparations.
While more remains to be done to reduce the impact of business rates on investment and growth, the Chancellor\\u2019s decisions will lessen the impact of rate rises on hard-pressed firms in many parts of the country from next April. Chambers campaigned hard for a reduction in the relentless rises of this iniquitous tax, and will be pleased that the Chancellor has listened and taken action.
