In May 2021, few if any expected Jaxon Smith-Njigba to have Ohio State football\u2019s most prolific receiving season.\nAs late as June 28, no one would put their name on a potential Buckeye loss to Oregon on Sept. 11.\nYet by Aug. 16, in the middle of preseason camp, major questions were beginning to leak through about a potential lack of playmakers on the OSU defense. Sometimes even when the Buckeye Talk crew made an incorrect prediction, the discussion around that choice told us a lot about what unfolded in the following months.\nAs we prepare to resume our Mark It Down Monday season preview series, we looked back on the predictions we made in 2021.
