Nebraska officially joined the Big Ten on July 1, 2011, so the Cornhuskers have been in the conference for a decade. Nobody much celebrated the official 10-year anniversary of the mark this week, but on this Buckeyefly Effect podcast, the question is what would have happened if Nebraska had never joined?\nWould both sides be happier?\nDoug Lesmerises and Nathan Baird drag former Nebraska sports writer Lee Barfknecht out of retirement to talk about this topic. Lee retired in 2018, but no one understands the inner workings of Nebraska athletics better and is more qualified to comment on whether Nebraska ever should have joined the league.\nIt's a different kind of discussion, but an interesting one. So take an hour to think about how big of a deal it was when Nebraska joined the Big Ten, and what difference it has actually made over the last decade.\nThanks for listening to Buckeye Talk from cleveland.com.\n See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.\nLearn more about your ad choices.
