b'back in the day when work \\nwould take me far from home\\n\\ntraveling where they needed me\\nperfecting sprints through major hubs\\nwith briefcase, laptop, carry on\\n\\nan airplane gave me stillness, calm\\n\\na time out from the pace\\nof a career, \\nexpectations for a family life\\n\\nII \\nthere is nothing like \\nthe calm I find in flight,\\nsuspended in midair\\n\\nthe soothing backdrop of flowing air\\nthat maintains cabin pressure\\n\\nthe humming spin of high speed blades,\\nthe hush of engine turbines\\n\\nwith the pause\\nall things make sense:\\nI rediscover clarity\\n\\nclear again on who I am,\\nreimagine the kind of life\\nI truly want were it still up to me\\n\\nIII\\nsomewhere along the way\\nI slide up the plastic blind to see \\nthe miracle that carries me\\n\\nabove the clouds\\nby graceful lift of \\naircraft wings much like a gull\\u2019s\\n\\nI realize then:\\nthe pause that gives me respite\\ndoes not mean I stopped, or\\nI\\u2019m not going anywhere \\n\\nthe pause\\n\\xa9 2020 Brian Crouth'
