Welcome to episode 17 Honeybee by Craig Silvey. The book was inspired by a real situation witnessed by the author’s brother and sister-in-law and in this episode, we discuss the author’s endeavour to portray his characters’ anguish and vulnerability in a way that is both sensitive and heartwarming. We are delighted to be bringing you this episode in Trans Awareness week and hope that you loved the book as much as we did. In our discussion, we refer to Sam as he/him. This is incorrect and we apologise for our mistake. Since Sam identifies as female, it is considered more respectful to use she/her.
