In this story, a small girl fondly called \'Dori\' who excels at rope jumps in school is a daughter of a debt-ridden farmer. The insecurity of farmer suicides happening nearby grips the whole family when Dori\'s father is unable to raise even little money to pay back debt and Dori burns all the ropes in the house including her favorite jumping rope to keep her father from hanging himself.
