Coach Lance Egnatz shares his journey from playing at two NCAA D2 programs to becoming the Interim Head Coach at Clayton State University.
\nHe began his college basketball AND baseball career at Penn State University \u2013 Beaver before transferring to and Lynn University. After graduating he moved to Florida began working at Somerset Academy as the HC, Assistant AD and ran the strength & conditioning program. Polk State hired him for his first collegiate coaching job. While at the D1 JUCO he helped turn that program that went 13-16 in his 1st season to 25-5 record and earned a #4 ranking in the State of Florida.
\nCoach Egnatz reunited with one of his former Assistant Coaches from Lynn University when Josh Schertz hired him at Lincoln Memorial University. From 2008 to 2012 he helped elevate the program from a 14-14 record in their first season to national powerhouse over his final three seasons in Harrogate.
\nHe got his opportunity to join the coaching staff at Tennessee-Martin (NCAA D1) from 2012 to 2014, in his 2nd season he was promoted to Associate HC. Coach Egnatz shares how his former coach and boss helped him after being let go at Tennessee-Martin and what he did during his year away from coaching college basketball.
\nCurrently he's in his 6th season in Morrow, Georgia. During his time at Clayton State they've made three NCAA Division II Tournament Appearances (2 Regional Semifinals, 1 Regional Quarterfinal).
