Coach Craig shares his journey from growing up in Bethlehem, PA to becoming a State Championship winning HC in Virginia.
\nHe attended Lehigh University for his undergrad and then received his Master's degree before moving to the Washington DC area. Coach In 2000 he began teaching at WT Woodson High School in Fairfax Virginia and joined Mike Pflugrath's coaching staff the following season. When Coach Pflugrath accepted the position at newly opened South County HS he interviewed to succeed him as the HC at Woodson. Doug Craig was named the 4th HC in the storied history of WT Woodson Boy's Basketball in April of 2005. After helping numerous players go on to play at the college level - including a number at the NCAA D1 level, he made school history winning the State Championship in 2017 after back-to-back Regional Championship and Regional appearances.
\nWT Woodson has had it's share of tragedies including the suicides' and deaths of students, Coach Craig and his program have been an integral part of the community that has rallied around them during those devastating times. He shares how he's dealt with it as both a coach and a teacher, any other coaches who have gone through similar circumstances can learn from how he's tried to navigate those type of situations.
