Coach Andrew Sachs shares his coaching journey from growing up in Maryland to coaching at the NCAA DI, DII, DIII, JUCO & HS ranks.
\nAfter playing NCAA DIII at Salisbury he began his coaching career as the GA at his alma mater. He eventually moved onto Virginia Wesleyan where he coached tennis and basketball while also serving as the SID. From Virginia Wesleyan he moved onto Indiana University of Pennsylvania (NCAA DII) where he had great success. Coach Sachs moved back to Maryland where he coached Rudy Gay at Archbishop Spalding HS and worked for AND1. Following a great run at Spalding he moved onto the NCAA DI ranks at Holy Cross serving on Ralph Willard's coaching staff. Following NIT & NCAA Tournament appearances Coach Sachs was hired at Bethany College as the Head Coach at Bethany College (NCAA DIII). He transformed that program into a nationally relevant program while also serving as the Head Coach of the Men's Tennis program at Bethany. When his alma mater [Salisbury] offered him the Head Coach position it was a dream job that he couldn't turn down. He led the Sea Gulls to a 59-24 record in his three seasons at the helm. After they made a coaching change he became the Head Coach at Chesapeake College (JUCO). In his first season he turned a team that hadn't posted a winning record in seven seasons to a 18-9 record.
