This week we chinwag about the job of sound engineers on tour, and why we feel there are so few females in that position. Afterward, we chat with Memphis native Amanda Davis, FOH (front of house) engineer for Janelle Mon\\xe1e and Tegan and Sara.

Amanda tells us how she graduated with a BA in Vocal Performance before realizing she didn’t want to sing but wanted to stay in music, so she enrolled in an audio tech program at SAE in Atlanta. She tells us about her first job as an audio engineer working at a church, to then working on a cruise ship, to getting a phone call from Janelle Mon\\xe1e’s tour and production manager informing her that Mon\\xe1e wanted a female FOH, and the rest is history. Amanda is also the first call for one of our personal favorite’s, Tegan and Sara. We chat about all of this and more!
