Member Spotlight- Renee Stapleton, MD
b'This Spotlight honors Renee Stapleton, MD, Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Burlington, VT. When Dr. Stapleton was a fellow, she became interested in research and saw nutrition in the ICU as an open box, with many unanswered questions. She has since led multiple nutrition RCTs, including a trial examining the effect of combined exercise and protein delivery in critically ill patients. Her advice to trainees with a research interest is to find good mentors, learn from the research coordinators, focus on developing strong writing skills and invest time to take workshops on grantsmanship and publishing.\\n\\nPhysician Spotlight is a forum for outstanding Senior Leaders, Young Rising Stars and International Colleagues in the field of nutrition to discuss important topics and ideas that impact patient care.
