A Poetry Lover's Celebration of Black History

Published: Feb. 24, 2021, 3 p.m.

It's already the last week of February! It has truly flown by, but before it's over, I wanted to celebrate Black History Month in a very special way. Growing up, I discovered a love for Black poetry and for the way words had the power to make me feel special and beautiful. I decided to pick three of my favorite poems written by Black poets and writers to share with you all! In this episode, I recite "BLK History Month" by Nikki Giovanni, "I, Too" by Langston Hughes, and "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou (in this order). So, take a seat and listen in... you may just find your new favorite poet!\xa0\nI hope you've all had a blessed and prosperous month! I encourage you to continue learning about Black history in your daily life. Don't let your growth in knowledge end on the 28th.
