80. What it Really Takes to Build an Art Career with Jenna Morello

Published: April 28, 2020, noon

This week’s episode features Brooklyn based muralist and sculptor Jenna Morello. I just got off this interview with her and I just want to warn you that there is a little bit of language in this episode, nothing too crazy, but if you have kids around then maybe just stick to headphones. Language aside, Jenna is so cool. I felt myself becoming my own version of a Brooklyn badass the longer we spoke. Haha! We reference a lot of her sculptures and murals in this episode so if you want a visual of exactly what we’re talking about, then just click the link in the notes that will take you directly to her Instagram so you can see these wicked cool resin pours she does. It’s kind of hard to explain but you’ll totally get it once you see photos. It’s such a unique approach. She’s really found a style that’s all her own. This episode is a look into how to stick to your niche, how to embrace the suck in the beginning and say yes to everything in order to build a portfolio, and how it will eventually pay off. Jenna has such a tough love approach when giving advice that I fully believe everyone needs to hear. She’s from Brooklyn so she says it like it is and it’s really refreshing to hear someone just speak her mind who’s been through it. Let me know what you think of this week’s episode with Jenna Morello.
