Researchers are asking if intelligence should be seen as a set of independent problem-solving modules, or as a single, generalized skill of innovation. Prof. Anna Dornhaus studies social insects like ants and bees to find the answer. Her findings could lead to better algorithms for computer networks and artificial intelligence technology.
