Beginning or Re-engaging a yoga practice: Interview with Alison Smith-Starr

Published: Sept. 27, 2023, 1:45 p.m.

This is a throw-back interview I had with (then) Alison Smith (now) Alison Smith-Starr, founder of Kanda Yoga School.

\n

\n

The interview took place in 2013 or 14...when I had left my teachers in the bay area, was teaching quite a bit, and felt the need for some guidance in my practice.

\n

Since then, almost ten years ago, much has happened, and this episode is a call to find or re-engage in a yoga practice in these times of immense acceleration on the planet!

\n

\n

To make it simple, the constants of a yoga practice consist of:

\n

\n

1. Stillness

\n

2. Breath awareness

\n

3. Structural (postural) Integrity

\n

\n

In my patreon membership I will offer a video about structural integrity to get you started on your mat.
