Born in Afghanistan, Wali and his family moved to the U.S. when he was just three years old. He was raised Muslim and found a way to keep practicing his Islamic faith while building a successful career in film & television. In addition to producing and acting, Wali made a name for himself winning the Sundance film festival, becoming the president at TapouT, and being honored with his own day & a key to city of Santa Cruz. He’d found a comfortable balance of being a Muslim and living the American dream...until 4 years ago. A bizarre late-night encounter at a Hollywood gas station with a football and Justin Bieber, inspired the start of a life changing journey of self reflection, re-examination of faith, and an unimaginable discovery within the Quran. All of which helped lead Wali to accept the fullness of God's grace and love through the death & resurrection of Jesus Christ. With his deep knowledge of Islam and his personal methods of self & religious examination, Wali has been traveling the country discussing a timely and relevant topic, “How To Love A Muslim in America”. He boldly teaches audiences how to talk with Muslims about the truth of who Jesus is without offending anyone. Wali will share all of this along with his inspiring, entertaining journey of faith.
