Why is Mali facing sanctions from its neighbours?
West African leaders have imposed sanctions on Mali\u2019s military government. \nThey have been calling for a return to civilian rule since a military coup in 2020.\nMali has experienced a second coup since then.\nAnd elections which were planned for February are now facing a lengthy delay.\nMali\u2019s leaders have called the sanctions illegal.\nBut will the measures encourage them to bring forward the elections? \nAnd what does it all mean for people in Mali?
