Is life improving for Ghanaians with Autism Spectrum Disorder?
Gifty Ayoka is the mother of a child with what used to be called Autism, but is now known as Autism Spectrum Disorder. \nIt\u2019s caused by differences in the brain that might lead to different ways of learning, moving or paying attention.\nWhen her son was born 11 years ago, there was very little knowledge about the disorder. \nGifty decided to train as a language therapist herself, to help support her son. \nThere were just three such therapists in Ghana at the time.\nNow there are around 50, but is that enough? And what progress still needs to be made?
