China is now Africa\u2019s biggest trading partner, with 20% of exports going to China and 16% of imports coming from there, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). \n \nAt the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) meeting earlier this month, President Xi Jinping promised $50 billion for African development, including military support and new jobs. \n \nWhile this partnership boosts development, it\u2019s also raising worries about debt, dependency and power imbalances. \n \nBBC Africa Daily\u2019s Alan Kasujja spoke to experts Dr. Faith Mabera and Dr. Folashad\xe9 Soul\xe9 to break down these complex relations.
