Following the dissolution of the New South Wales government, Henry Bryce is ready to take on the Labour Party for the seat of Balmain East. But no sooner is the campaign underway than his body turns up in Sydney Harbour. Who did it? Nat Gould, the author of this mystery, was one of the most widely read of his day, especially among lovers of horse racing, the subject of many of his novels.
