What you are about to learn

There are different types of critics, and there are film critics, book critics, and others in there. Their job is to look at a piece of the book or a movie or a portion of art and look at it with a critical eye, not necessarily looking for things wrong with it, but an honest appraisal to say what's right is appealing. What's missing.

So criticism is inherently harmful, we use the word criticism, mostly it doesn't have to mean that is somebody finding something wrong with what we did. Sometimes the meaning of it is people, telling you what was wrong with what you did. Criticism is also a positive thing. It depends on how you take it. So when you get criticism, when you get someone who is pointing out flaws, missing pieces, entirely wrong things, there's a couple of things to remember. They're looking at it through the lens of their experience in life. Their experience gives them an individual perspective. And nobody said that view was better or right. If ever you received criticism, think of it this way- “Okay, this is their opinion.

This is their feeling, and maybe, they are a real critic, and they do this regularly. And so the criticism isn't intended to be ruthless in cutting it simply observational. Whether it's cutting or observational, your choice is to look at it and say,  “There's some truth here.” Now whether or not you pay attention to the feedback that’s up to you. In terms of the criticism that they might give, it's not just cutting negative faultfinding remarks, but it could also be constructive. And that depends on the giver, and it depends on the eye that we look at it with.

The other thing is naysayers. People who are naysayers, sometimes they're genuine, and the reason was that they had a viewpoint. They tell you not to do something. And it's based on their perspective. They believe the world works a certain way and so they give you feedback or advice based on that. Another reason naysayers jump into the picture is that they're jealous. They don't want you to win because they don't want to feel bad about themselves.

Key Takeaways

“The question is, what are you going to do? You're not prepared for the naysayers, and you're not prepared for criticism, harsh words, and stark negativity where you thought you might have support if you're not prepared for that. It can be crushing to your heart. It can be crushing to your spirit. So the first thing I would offer is a thought about what to do, decide ahead of time. Know right this minute that as you embark on the journey of creating an Ultimate Life, the Ultimate Life is going to be hard. And you have to decide right now what you're going to do with criticism. And with naysayers.”

“Ignore them. Ignore what they say. But decide to create as much love and kindness in your heart as you can. Someone that's a naysayer about me moving after the ultimate life I love them. I love them deeply. And the thing that I feel most of all is sorrow, that they do not find it attractive or powerful in their own life, to find out how to use their gifts and talents to serve to create their version of ultimate life for them.”
