Podcast: Defining Your Marketing Community

Published: July 7, 2016, 11:30 a.m.

Going on almost a year now, my wife and I have been full-time nomads. We've spent extended periods of time in both large cities and small towns. Being the marketing-obsessed guy I am, I've noticed a lot of correlation between the size of the communities we stay in and the type of marketing communities we build for law practices. In the smaller environments, we started forming relationships. We built trust with complete strangers and saw the beginnings of our own mini-communities. In the larger cities, we were always going somewhere new, eating someplace different, and never interacting with the same person twice. We had built trust with no one. Creating a marketing community for your law practice follows many of the same principles. Building trust, connecting with referrals, and networking happens much faster and with greater success in smaller settings. Whether you're practicing law in a rural village or a metropolis, learn how to define your marketing community in a way that's most beneficial to your law practice.
