Only 1 of the 25 studies, the HABITS\ntrial, demonstrated an increased risk of recurrence, which was limited to local\nor contralateral, and not distant, recurrence. None of the studies, including\nHABITS, reported increased breast cancer mortality associated with HRT. Even in\nthe HABITS trial, the absolute increase in the number of women who had a\nrecurrence (localized only) associated with HRT administration was 22.
